I collectively refer to what I write as "IN and OUT of Darkness - The Book of Jack" because although what prompted me to start writing was the darkness, not everything is dark and I now write about a range of subjects.

Why and when I started writing
I started writing initially about my mental health concerns, my past drinking experiences, my family, football, the poetry group, then as my confidence grew I shared thoughts concerning less personal broader topics. I have written about my own thoughts and feelings regarding my mental health experiences and how that may or may not develop.
A quick timeline of events.
- I stopped drinking in December 2013
- I had concerns regarding mental health, late 2020
- I started writing in February 2021
- I started sharing my poetry in February 2023
