This poem was written following one of Julie Stevens' poetry workshops, where we were presented with "The Catch - Simon Armitage" I related his poem to a football memory of mine many years ago. Below is my attempt to write something in the same structure.

Forget

Being average, at best

Week after week

Game after game 

Then one sublime day

Proof that every dog has one

Everything works

Everything comes together

An opponent

A revered exponent of playing upfront

Likens me

To the legend that is
