Sometimes I struggle to know my mind

Feelings hard to explain or be defined

Moments of smiles and moments of frowns

Life is full of ups and downs

Sometimes I’m happy and sometimes I’m sad

I try to be calm but occasionally get mad

I rarely get cold and I rarely get hot

Sometimes I’m present and sometimes I’m not

Feelings of heaven and feelings of hell

Often the difference is hard to tell

Locked firmly within, however dark or disturbed

Carrying the burden, so others remain unperturbed

Nobody knows where I’ve actually been

Only imagining the things that I’ve seen

The reality of where’s why’s and how

Remain a secret, at least for now
