A workshop in Apr 2024 run by Julie Stevens included a Kin Moore poem - The Trumpet Teacher's Curse. To me this poem illustrated the annoyance experienced if trying to teach something, that you love, to an unreceptive class. I felt the frustration and futility of it and wrote this.

Distractions are exactly that 

But when they become disruptions

They reach another level

It is one thing to waste your own time

It’s another to waste the time of a group

But when you waste the valuable time of teachers

It reaches yet another level

Learning requires focus

And if not there to learn

Then why be there at all
